Angelica Villamil grew up as the youngest from an immigrant family living in Oak Cliff. She was always drawn to the creative world but, as a first-generation college student, was encouraged to pursue a traditional profession. She earned a bachelor’s degree and worked in marketing, but in her free time she fiddled with her Godmother’s old sewing machine.
Two years ago her burning desire to learn how to sew led her to take “Ready-to-Wear,” and it was a revelation. Today she is working towards her AAS in Apparel Design, as well as an AAS in Technical Pattern Design.
She plans to present her first collection in the Spring of 2026 as part of her matriculation in Apparel Design. She hopes to turn her passion into a profession in fashion design.
